From 18 MB to about 1 MB
Our 18.4 MB photo brochure came out at 1.07 MB with plain Recommended settings, and under 1 MB with the 1 MB target. Most heavy PDFs shrink this much because their images carry far more pixels than any screen or printer needs.
We resize each image to a sensible resolution for its size on the page, then encode it with tuned JPEG settings. You get a file that looks almost the same as the original at normal zoom.
Where a 1 MB limit shows up
- Email services and office mail servers that bounce large attachments
- WhatsApp and chat apps on slow mobile connections
- Online exam, certificate and scholarship uploads
- Client reports that need to open quickly on a phone
Faster than uploading
Online compressors make you upload a 20 MB file before they even start. On a slow connection that upload takes longer than the compression itself. We skip it entirely: your own computer or phone does the work, using every processor core it has.
