100 KB target
How to compress a PDF to 100 KB
- 1Drop your PDF into the box above or tap Select PDF files.
- 2Leave the target at 100 KB. Type a different number if your portal asks for one.
- 3Press Compress PDF. Most files finish in two to five seconds.
- 4Download the result. If 100 KB is out of reach, we show the smallest size we managed and still give you that file.
What fits in 100 KB
100 KB sounds small, and for photos it is. For scanned paperwork it is usually enough. A clean black and white scan of an A4 page needs roughly 25 to 40 KB, so a two or three page form fits comfortably.
Phone photos of documents are harder. Paper texture, shadows and color make every page heavier. If your PDF has more than three or four photographed pages, expect to land above 100 KB unless you drop pages first.
Five tricks that help a tight 100 KB limit
- Remove blank pages and instruction pages that the portal does not need.
- Scan in black and white instead of color. Our engine detects scanned text and stores it as sharp black and white automatically.
- Crop the photo before you make the PDF, so the page holds the document and not the table under it.
- Upload signatures and photographs as separate small files when the portal allows it.
- Split a long document and upload the parts the form actually asks for.
Will the text still be readable?
Yes. We store scanned text with lossless JBIG2 coding. Every letter and digit keeps its exact pixels, so a 6 never turns into an 8. Typed text inside the PDF does not change at all, it stays selectable and searchable.
